Thoemke, owner of Connects Workspace, Gold Mine Cupcakes and Cafe 13, is expanding her Golden business portfolio by opening a second coworking space, Connects Workspace Red Rocks, and a food hall called Morris & Mae this summer...


Morris & Mae already has five food vendors committed to its space, plus one food stall still available. Mac Nation Cafe, a macaroni and cheese restaurant located in Indian Hills, will be opening its second location, Thoemke said. Kiki’s Fresh Bowls, a poke and acai bowl restaurant in Evergreen, has also committed to Morris & Mae, as well as a new street taco vendor and a vendor serving Italian paninis and salads...

Thoemke opened the original Connects Workspace in 2015 with seven members in a 3,000-square-foot building in Golden. Since then, she has expanded to 15,000 square feet, and had 220 members before the coronavirus pandemic. Now, she has 250 members. She credits new Golden residents, the work-life balance in Golden and the many remote workers Golden has with her success, not to mention the culture she has created at the business...
